Gastropods are the largest class of mollusks totally around 50,000 from Cambrian to present (up to 550 million years) - almost 35,000 different kinds of Gastropods are still living today. They have a broad, muscular foot and a well formed head with eyes and tentacles. Includes snails, sea hares and garden slugs. They once were confined to ancient seas and over time evolved to ponds, streams, lakes and land.
